This post is more about curiosity than anything. Ya see, yesterday, I was at a Large Motorcycle Swap meet in Harrisburg PA, and I got this really sweet deal on a box of "like new" motor parts(heads, cams, etc) off of an '07 Nightster. And the shop owner(dunno his name) said he pulled the parts off a low mile XL1200N, when the bike owner wanted more power and brought in some SE Heads, Cams etc to upgrade....and these were the "Like NEW" take-offs.
So I'm wondering, was this '07 Nightster any of you guys' ? And secondly, if you know about *Lucky Charm Choppers* is this place an up and up shop ?

Just curious...

I can walk to Lucky Charm Choppers from my place. I haven't noticed any 1200N's ripping around the neighborhood, but I'll keep my eyes open.

I have never gotten any work done there, but know quite a few people that have. DLish (haven't seen him online in awhile) has had them do some work (last time I heard he was getting a custom tank done by them). They are pretty much an old school chopper place. They build some nice looking choppers, if you are into that sorta thing. Never heard anything bad about them or their work.

And they have a kick-ass Strip Poker run every year.

Cool Dan, I didn't know you lived so close to them. And it's good to know they've had a good rep, and they are probably up and up. The guy seemed honest that sold the stuff, and said he wasn't really into building hot rod engines much anymore, although he said he'd do the work, but was more into the custom bike building side.
BTW- I think this work was done to the Nightster -LAST YEAR !?

LOL :laugh - all I know is, it was MY lucky day ;)

Definitely more of a chopper shop then an engine building place.

Here's some pictures I took at last year's Strip Poker run:

My vote for the coolest bike:

I am right across the river from those guys in Bridgeport. They do good work and helped me out of a jam two weeks ago. My 04 883 was totaled by the insurance company two weeks ago and I had just finished a custom made exhaust for it. Duncan the shop owner hooked me up with a set of head pipes and muffs so the man couldn't get my pipes. They are a good people.

Here's Lucky Charm's website (http://www.luckycharmchoppers.com/). More interestingly, here's a page (http://www.luckycharmchoppers.com/bike15.php) with a few pictures of that bike we all drool over.

just to set things straight, those parts were take off of a low milage nightster that the local hd dealer conned the guy into thinking he had to buy all screamin eagle parts to get any power out of his bike. so he gave us the parts he no longer had use for. thats why they were cheap. we do run an up and up shop and would rather see somebody on the road than !!!!'em out of cash. i truly appreciate the good stuff being said about us on this forum. we are not primarily a high performance shop but we do build plenty of motors. we are a general motorcycle shop that does everything in house but paint and plating. by the way i'm the guy on the red and black pan in the pic above. feel free to stop in and check us out.

So, best I can tell, your turning your bike into a hardtail, converting to a chain drive and new paint? What else? Can't wait to see it.

John

Its neverending, hardtail, new 2.5 gallon small highmount sporty tank, shorter bars, polished stainless rear fender, different exhaust, chain drive, etc etc...and i went over board and its green paint acutally done by a professional and not from a rattle can in my back yard.

Its snowing outside now and I hate it, i just want my bike back. Once its nice we def need to get out for a ride,

Ressurecting the old thread for any info - the Lucky Charm shop has "For Lease" signs out and the website hasn't been updated in a long time. Are they moving or done?

Dlish

21st August 2009, 15:34

They are moving a couple of miles away. I was in yesterday talking to Donny and seems excited about their new space. Its on Ridge a little north of the current place. The website is another issue regarding being a bike shop vs builder and the insurance differences I believe.
