Who is Midland Funding, LLC?
Midland Funding, LLC is a debt buyer, and an affiliate of Midland Credit Management (MCM). The accounts that Midland Funding purchased are primarily serviced by Midland Credit Management. If you have an account owned by Midland Funding, you can log in to Midland Credit Management’s website to learn more about your account and your repayment options.
Midland Funding owns accounts that were delinquent with the original creditor, and in most cases, the original creditor did not receive payment for six months. Rather than continuing to service these accounts, the original creditor chooses to sell the accounts to companies like Midland Funding. You can learn more about Midland Funding here.

What’s the difference between Midland Funding and Midland Credit Management?
Midland Funding, LLC is a debt purchaser, while Midland Credit Management is both a debt purchaser and servicer. Midland Credit Management services accounts that it owns as well as accounts owned by affiliate companies, like Midland Funding. This is why you may see Midland Funding on your credit report, but Midland Credit Management is contacting you regarding your unpaid debt owned by Midland Funding.
Why am I being contacted by Midland Credit Management and not my original creditor (the company I previously had an account with?)
When a lender doesn’t receive payment on an account for at least 180 days, or if payments are less than the monthly minimum, they may decide to close the account and turn it over to collections. Many lenders sell past-due accounts to companies like Midland Credit Management (MCM). At that point MCM begins reaching out to consumers.
If you received a letter from us, this means a creditor you had an account with has closed your account and sold it to us. You will need to work with MCM, not your original creditor, to resolve your account. MCM is committed to helping consumers resolve their obligations and get back to doing what they love.
Why am I receiving phone calls from a number I don’t recognize?
